6 New Pickleball Paddles to Watch This October
October brings a wave of new paddles: the Bread & Butter x Selkirk Loco 2, the RPM Jade, JOOLA's first full-foam paddle and more. Here's what's launching and what it means for you.
October is one of the busiest months of the year for paddle launches. The common thread this season is durable grit: brands are moving away from raw carbon that wears smooth and towards textured surfaces built to hold spin for longer. These are the six releases we're watching most closely.
1. Bread & Butter Loco 2
The first joint release from Bread & Butter and Selkirk. The Loco 2 keeps the original Loco's dual-density foam core and adds a T700 raw carbon face with Space Dust Grit. The Loco 2 Blanco is available to pre-order at Paddle Dept.
2. RPM Jade
RPM's control-focused paddle, built around an MPP floating foam core and a durable SICmatrix silicon-carbide surface for long-lasting spin. Shop the RPM Jade.
3. Enhance MPP Turbo (ArmorGrit)
An updated version of the popular Turbo with Enhance's ArmorGrit surface, at around US$100. One of the strongest value launches this month.
4. Gearbox Pressure X
Described by reviewers as the most technically advanced paddle in this month's crop. Full lab data hasn't been published yet.
5. Holbrook Fuze VantaGrit
Holbrook's Fuze gets the new VantaGrit surface, aimed at players who want more control from the face.
6. JOOLA POWER FX
JOOLA's first full-foam paddle, and a sign of how far the full-foam trend has spread across the industry.
The Paddle Dept. take
Durable grit matters more than ever now that USA Pickleball measures spin directly (read our explainer). If you want help choosing, every paddle we stock has full specs and independent lab data on our Compare a Paddle page, or message us on WhatsApp and we'll talk you through it.
